2018 Marx Generator V0

Back in 2018, during my junior high school years, I came across a YouTube video demonstrating a Marx generator and became determined to recreate it. With limited funds as a student, I improvised by constructing the framework on cardboard using strategically placed nails connected with simple wires and iron rods. For the essential capacitors, I handcrafted film capacitors using a technique I learned from online tutorials - layering aluminum foil strips between adhesive tape layers and rolling them into cylindrical forms. My longest capacitor reached an impressive 1.5 meters in length. This project motivated me to purchase my first multimeter to measure capacitance values. The system was powered by a compact high-voltage generator bought from Taobao. After numerous iterations, I successfully generated electric arcs measuring approximately 1 cm in length.
